Heartbeat, Love & Intimacy
To thine own self be true
A weekend Heartbeat workshop in London, with Sue Rickards.
I wondered about offering two workshops this Autumn - a Heartbeat workshop and one around Intimacy - and then gradually it dawned on me that I'm thinking about both in one. So this workshop will use our dancing exploration of the map of the heart and see how that might support us when we dance with another.
Some people love to dance solo, feeling most at home with no disturbance from outside. Some people love to dance duo, feeling most alive and themselves when they are meeting another.
This will not be a wishy-washy sweetness-and-light weekend. Nor will it be a push-over-the-boundaries one-off experience. What I'm hoping we find are some more pieces of how to simply be our heartful alive selves, alone or in partnership, with other dancers, with our workmates, children, friends and strangers. I hope we will be disturbed where we are too comfortable and comforted where we are too disturbed.
Please see Heartbeat page for more about the nature of Heartbeat work.
Early booking recommended.
Cost: £130 / £110 low income / £90 concessions. Discounts: £10 off if paid in full by 23 September; £10 off for Sue's ongoing group ("ATBGO"); £20 off for both

Lost Souls
This is a time of year when many cultures acknowledge that we live with the sure fact of death.  We will dance as we always do whilst weaving in the awareness that many of us have loved and lost.  These losses are part of our lives now.  If you would like to bring photos or objects or images that are meaningful to you in your loss (no matter how recent or long ago, no matter how great or small), to honour your dead, we will make space on the altar.
If you have not experienced the death of someone yet, this evening is still appropriate for you, of course!
Venue (St George's) and prices as usual (for the Saturday Wave).

Dance For Life
Dance for Amnesty International and the Medical Foundation for the care of victims of torture
On 23rd November the Tuesday Wave will become the Dance For Life, when we'll dance for the benefit of others.  All the funds raised will go to Amnesty International and the Medical Foundation – so bring your generous heart, and maybe a friend or two!
Entrance by donation – we suggest you give £20+ if you can – minimum £12 – the sky's the limit!
Your donation is a direct and powerful way to support the direct and powerful work of both of these organisations.
